I'm new to the hammock thing. I've been practicing knots that I think I should know. But, I have my doubts.
What 4 knots must every camper know like the back of their hand?
Indispensable is spelled wrong!

Bowline
Sheet-bend
Taunt line Hitch
and for Hammock Campers...the Prussic knot
I agree with these and I'd add the clove hitch.
I love knots and practice them often. Sometimes I actually carry a two foot piece of paracord with me and if I'm bored in a restaurant or waiting in some line, or shopping with my wife I pull it out and practice tying knots. I practice different ways to do the same knots i.e. right handed, left handed, eyes closed, behind my back.

Don't let life get in the way of living.
My most reliable and dependable knot ...
There are a few good and free "knot apps" out there
Many many options of knots or combinations.
Back in them days before I ever hear or read about stuff like Dutchware, Fig 9's etc I used these knots most of the time:
Evenk hitch ('exploding' knot, easy to untie, and easy to tie with mittens)
Half hitch (exploding aswell, which basically means, pull the end and the knot becomes completely undone)
Bowline
Taught line hitch
Prussik
The evenk I used for tying both ends of the hammock to the tree(s) and one end of the tarp to the tree.
Half hitch to tie the other end of the tarp (again to the tree, duh). Half hitches as well to adjust the hammock suspension at the head/foot end of the hammock where I had carabiners.
Bowline to form a loop around my tarp tieouts.
Taught line hitch to adjust and tension the guylines.
Prussik to adjust and tension the tarp on the ridge line.
I do know many other knots from my sailing days and could have used some of them while hammocking and probably did while figuring out what worked best for me.

I'd also add the Farrimond hitch (search on Wikipedia) it's a prussick loop tied with a single end and a slippery half hitch. I use it from the tarp to a continuous ridge line CRL. Oh also the buntline hitch used in place of a round turn with 2 half hitches.
I think others have said the main ones I use, but I thought I'd second the (little known?) Farrimond hitch. I use a Farrimond hitch on every trip (and most day hikes).
I have a length of zing-it with a fixed eye in one end. I loop that around a tree (through the eye) and use a Farrimond hitch to hang my pack from the tree. It's quick to hang, easy to adjust the height and quick to release.
bowline and clove are great knots.
My favorite knots are the Truckers hitch and the Rolling hitch. I actually use those in everyday life pretty regularly.
