    I believe in using the right tool/item for the situation. Tents have their place for sure. I still have a few of them some where. I have not slept in one since I started hanging but that's not to say I would never. As a matter of fact, I just bought another tent that I will use as a warming hut next winter. My family will not join me out in the snow unless I bring some assurances of warmth. The hut will be heated with a stove and we can gather, store some gear and cook/eat in there but we will sleep in hammocks. It will also serve as a backup shelter if something happens to one or more of the hammock rigs. I don't miss tents, I just look at them as another resource at my disposal.

    Looking at those gear hammocks makes me think of DOG HAMMOCKS!!

    one nice thing about a gear sling is if you place your gear in there right it will offer some more insulation.

    why carry two things when you can carry one that can do the job of both
