Its really easy to put the webbing on the HH

But then you lose the simplicity of the tarp attached to the hammock suspension which is part of the HH appeal. Maybe you can prussik the tarp to the webbing?

You probably could...but I don't personally attach my tarp to my hammock. Found that it tended to sag too much once I climbed in, and I preferred having the tarp and hammock as totally seperate entities each in their own set of skins.

No getting the hammockin the way, that way, no tarp sag when I lay in the hammock, and I've found that having skins on both is a good way to go. When the weather is nice, I can skin the tarp and have it ready to deploy quick if things change. If it's raining, I can put my bedding into my backpack, skin up my hammock, and have plenty of room to sit with others or even cook without the hammock getting in the way...and can quickly roll it back out when it's time to nap.

Understood. That's what I do too but Kurt was commenting on how nicely the HH system works as designed, with the tarp and hammock going into a single snakeskin.

Hennessy and seperate tarp user here (either JRB 8x8 or HG Winter Palace), but a friend of mine uses his WBBB dbl 1.7 with the tarp in snakeskins, prussiked to his treestraps...

Just to let you know, yes that works. He uses a biner on each end of his webbing to go around the tree and clip onto the webbing again. Then the cinch thingy near the hammock ends.

Afaik, the tarp (10x10, used diagonally) is in snakeskins, his hammock with quilts are in a drybag. Just the two suspension parts are loose.

I started with my HH + tarp in the snake skins. But when I added the UC, the bulk was too much. I read a few posts on this forum and decided to just put the HH and UC as one unit in the snake skins and keep the tarp separate. That's because if it is raining (the reason I'd use the tarp), I can set it up first and work under it to rig the hammock. Also, at take down time, I can get things put away dry under the tarp and carry the wet tarp separate from the dry stuff.

Since then, I discovered that sun shield from Bliss. It's about half the price of snake skins and sort of like a tapered bishop bag (draw strings on both ends). It is larger than the snake skins, just a tab bulkier heavier - but I am not a gram weenie (I'd rather carry 80 lb. in my kayak than 40 lb. on my back).

So I may end up with the hammock + UC in the sun shield - a UQ may fit as well! - and put the tarp in snake skins. That way both parts have their wrapper and the wet is still separated from the dry.

I have both and I just seem to sleep better in the WB. I think it really depends on each persons size, shape, weight, etc. I love the HH and would have a hard time ever selling it. I'm sure my setup has something to do with it also

Now, since I got the BMBH, I can't believe how comfy it is! I'm a side sleeper and it is amazing. My only problem is getting clearance with my tarp. Seems to be a common problem.

Russ and I love our Hennessy Hammocks. Sure, it has whoopies, Mod 4, and the bottom entry changed, but the lay in it is perfect. I made the bag into a bishop bag to speed deployment. Wouldn't go to another hammock.

    Hennessy Explorer Ultralite A-Sym

I've had my Hennessy Explorer Ultralite A-Sym, since 2003. It has over 5,000 hiking miles & 2 years of nights in it on the trail. Plus years of sleeping in it here at home. I just got it back from 2QZQ, with a Mod 4. I set it up and just laid in it. I hate to say it, but I love that hammock. It worked for me when I was 147lbs and worked when I was edging close to 300lbs. It's as good as new, and I would be hard pressed to depart with it. I've tried a number of hammocks, and have a few here at home. Nothing so far comes close to what the HH has. The only down side, is the weight. The one thing, I'm willing to accept.
