My buddy brought 3 cornish game hens last trip!
Afoot and light-hearted, I take to the open road,
Healthy, free, the world before me,
The long brown path before me, leading wherever I choose.

For me and the boys its cigars. Nothing like a surprise stooge after dinner sitting next to a small fire.

Great. Now I'm going to have Frank Oz's voice grating in my ear backwards speech in the entire time I'm out in the field today...

    Leashes. Long leashes. And collars.

Or, maybe, a roost in a hammock?

This right here. A good cigar and a drink after a nice meal cooked over a fire is the best.

I guess it depends on the crowd though. For groups with kids a batch of smores and hot chocolate would go over well. Just watch out for Pinkfoot.

I do recall taking Wilderness Survival Merit Badge as a boy and the instructor dropping us off on a river island for the weekend and tossing a live chicken out!!!

I do the same, but it doesn't appear to be a surprise anymore. I think my buds have become to reliant on my choice of premium brand sticks!

These are great comments--keep them coming! On my trip to Charles Deam a couple of weeks ago, we were at a great site--off the path and on a bluff above Lake Monroe. Someone had lugged a huge (4 ft x 4ft?) heavy metal grate to the site and left it there. I would have definitely brought a few frozen steaks if I'd known! I'm loving the coffee and spare hammock ideas--just so happens that I've got a GT Ultralight due to arrive this week! I'd bring liquor, but luckily, that would surely be a redundancy on most of these trips! LOL!

Few people turn down good chocolate . . .

Like dark chocolate with cranberries and almonds. Also bacon; wine; other spirits as already mentioned.

A QIWiz saw. Only need one for a large group, and it's super light.
I THOUGHT GETTING OLDER WOULD TAKE MUCH LONGER.
