Sorry for the delay. I just heard back from the State this morning. There's someone else in charge of it now (#3).

So here's the scoop: WE DID IT!!!!!

I won't relay the entire lengthy response here but enjoy the highlights:

• Suggested revisions are being made to the Operations Manual which would list rules to include hammocks as an allowable style of camping rig and sort of govern how they are used in a manner that will protect both our natural resources and park visitors.
• For those campers who have already found parks which are accommodating to your camping rigs please feel free to continue camping there.
• There are no parks which offer overnight camping that are scheduled to be excluded from participation.

So there you go. As soon as the revisions are approved and 100% set in stone they'll be forwarded to me for dissemination.
