Welcome from Ohio.
I am also a side sleeper and am able to in my Eno DN. I made a new hammock that is longer and wider and it is even easier to side sleep and not bend my spine in a weird position. What is nice about the hammock is that you don't have any of those pressure points and your secured and cradled very nicely (for lack of better explanation). When I had to use a CCF pad the feeling wasn't near as nice though. I find my hips and back hurt far less after sleeping in a hammock. I wish it were my main bed...but my husband is ready to go that step yet.
Welcome from Indiana.
I have some back issues myself - 2 bulging discs and 1 torn disc. I have found hammock camping extremely enjoyable and comfortable. I am going to be looking for an asymetrical hammock myself soon to get a more flat hang. However, just using a Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter the last few hangs has been acceptable. No back problems at all during those trips and woke up feeling great.
Like someon said above, there are a lot of good peeps here who will help you find what you are looking for.
Good luck!
Dan

Welcome from Woodstck NY.
hello and welcome to the forums. The HF is kinda like when we were growing and we'd ask our mom a question about something, hoping for just a quick answer, and she 'd say "ask your father" we'd say or think, I didn't want that much information. Albeit here you get tried and true. BTW i'm a side sleeper and change sides and on stomach during night, i have many many hammocks, I'm 6'4' 225 and used wbbb for a couple yrs as go to, but found the 11ft WLNO worked great, then went to the 11ft Dangerbird and after continuous months use month and a half in central america it beats anything I've tried, with the advantage of built in net and solid cover. Best was no lower leg discomfort and can lay either way with equal comfort, just my 1/2 cent. again welcome to a great forum
