Hey guys i just purchases a jeep and decided to go camping. When we go to the site the tree were not in a friendly hanging set up so we decided to use the jeep ! it worked out so well that i think this is my new setup for my jeep camping adventures from now on!! the one on the left is a hennessey and the other is a diy spear
Yep,,,works great,,as I have a 02 wranger TJ and do the same off the roll bars,,but,,also making a second ALAMOSA portable hammock stand with boom stakes for me and the wife to use when everything else fails. Its called improvision when trees are not available.

I've considered it, but I have serious doubts the roof rack on the ol' ZJ would stand up to hammock forces, haha.

i've hung one end off of my luggage rack on my yukon on a couple of occasions, worked fine

I've used the cargo tie downs on my F-150. Seem to hold just fine.
