I've used a Kelty Noah 9 tarp (Light whatish/gray color) that seemed cooler undeneath than my OD Hennessey Hex tarp in simmilar temps and humidity.

Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem.
Ronald Reagan, President of the United States
That is why I researched this years ago. Back before the internet, spent way to much time in the library looking for answers. I also learned if you paint your kitchen yellow you will fight less with your spouse than if it is red. Or is it the opposite? It was a awhile ago.
FWIW thought as I have not tried it. When there is no breeze I would try pitching my tarp as a flat shed roof higher on the front than the back. This comes from a comment from and architect on a tour. He said the way to make a breeze in a breezeway was to make one side opening bigger than the other. The air warming up in the breezeway then set up a current as it expanded similar to a venturi. I have no idea what happens with no side walls but it might be worth the little effort required to try it. ;-)
The higher end survival blanket is silver on one side and green on the other. It might take two to make a tarp. I bet it would work great.
