Yes. I went with a 42 inch base width, and it seems very stable. The 38 inch felt pretty good too, but those extra 4 inches provided a little mote stability.

Anybody know what a hotel room looks like with a turtle dog stand in it?
I do. Just got back from family vaca. My daughters hub and 2 kids in one room of a suite, my wife in another room and me in the common room at night. Setup as you know is as quick as pulling out the fold a couch. I was the only one in the morning not recovering from too soft or too hard of a bed, mine was just like it always is.
Pictures, yes, I kept meaning to get a couple. Didn't get it done.
How Long is the turtledog stand total I'm interested in hanging in my room that is 10x13
You could. I get 16' and change for the diagonal on that room.
And the foot spacing would be favorable for that dimension, as the far vertex of the triangle is in line with the crossbar rather than opposed-oblique to it the way that the other two are (in other words, the crossbar's line cuts the triangle in half like so: ----> rather than like so: ----<). This means that the end feet would tuck into the corners fairly well rather than blocking the stand from going back into said corners.
It wouldn't be an ideal set up, unless you're willing to set up and break down every day, as it creates largish dead space areas in the room. But it would create extra space on the length, should you need it.
Hope it helps!

Looks like I'm a bit late to the party for getting my name on the list, but I just finished putting one of these together a couple days ago and it couldn't have been easier.
Plan on giving it a try this weekend while staying at a beach "campground" with no trees in site. Will post pictures when I get back.
