    Just a thought.

I wonder if i could make one tall enough to hang over the couch with the limited space i have next to it on either side. I mean really over the couch, so that people could even be sitting on it while I hang!

Short couch, short occupants, high ceilings, sure you could!

"Limited space" sounds like an issue though. You just have to have about ten feet from hang point to hang point, and the taller the stand the wider the tripod has to be to be stable.

    My first TD

Made my 1st TD this week. It's tall, but I like it. It's just going to stay in the back yard. I started reading this thread 3 months ago and finally finished it. 3 months to read a how to = 1 hour to build it. Lol. Lots of fun!

Wow! This is so cool! TDS stands in Aussie land! I am amazed at the inspiration of two persons went global with this simple stand! As well as the other ideas that come off this forum.
Sadly I have had my makings for this stand a long time but keep putting off this project or sidelining it for other things. Need to get mine built dang it!

If it isn't finished by next Jan., bring the pieces to FH5 and I will build it for you.
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.

Okay! Thanks for the offer! I want to use it for a Mayan we picked up in Mexico when we went on a cruise.

Nothing wrong with taking your time.......

I like your tarp set up as well!!! What type is it? Nice idea for the side pullouts, saves having loads of guy lines to fall over.....

Is it better to have the line that keeps the legs from walking in the middle of the legs or at the bottom? or does it even matter?
"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."
