Thanks! I used a fence rail connector piece and that bent, so I used the pipe. The connector is actually a pipe inside of a pipe, too. That was the only way to make it strong enough!

JakobW...I highly recommend that you replace the paracord with a stronger rope and move the attachment points of the tripod-to-ridgepole ropes and hammock suspension closer together.

Using a stronger rope will ultimately keep the ridgepole off of your head and moving the attachment points will remove the downward forces trying to bend the ridgepole (the likely cause of failure to the fence rail connector).

Olddog add another stand. After snooping around this thread for a long time, I put one together the other night. It sure beats the traditional hammock stand I was using indoors, and I finally was able to get good sag in my new BIAS WW. What a treat! Thanks for all of your mods folks - y'all made it easy for me. It went together in about an hour and a half!

Are you talking about the ones I mad Artjrk? I weighed the tripods, they came in at 16 lbs. I didn't weigh the ridgepole yet, as I am still experimenting with different types of poles.

Thanks Bundy. I was wondering if the the aluminum was lighter than wood. My 6' tripods w/ 1.25 round poles and fence rail top bar are 18# while the 5' tripods w/ 1" round poles and top rail are 12#. I guess the wood is a bit lighter. I know yours are taller.

The reason that I went with aluminum poles and not wood is because I drive a small 2 door car and is is really hard to get the wood poles into my car.

Here are some quick photos from the phone. Need to pick up some rated quick links, I think they'll be happier in the end cap holes than my biners.
