I use two large maples that are about that distance apart. In fact, I've been surprised by posts saying 15' is optimal. To me, that's much too short. When looking for trees on the trail, I pace off and find that 6 to 7 steps is optimal. That's about 18 to 21 feet. For me, 25 is certainly not double the optimal distance.

In my case at home, with the two maples in my yard, I have chains with eyebolts in each tree, because my Pawley's Island Hammock stays up all summer. When I want to hang my Hennessey there, I just use a bit of the chains on each end to attach my whoopies to.
