If I can figure out which brand it is I'll add that to the instructions.

Cool, 4", thanks. Yeah, thats the other thing, on the 4" hinge the wide side of the hinge has a hole in the center but on the narrow long leg 2 of the holes are offset from the centerline.

I'd like to get the ones you said you found with the holes on the centerline of the long leg of the tee. Are you buying them at a chain store, like Home Depot or Ace ?

I honestly don't remember. I've made a bunch of these stands now.

Lowes, HD, Ace or True Value. One of those four places. The hinge says Stanley and National on them.

I think they might be these:

Those look perfect! I'm going to go see if they have those at my TrueValue. Thanks again.

Long time lurker here and figured I would chime in on this and add to an already lengthy post since you guys are keeping count of builds.

Did this a little different with a 13 foot span and a little tweaking so that I could fit this on my catch all front porch that is slowly being taken over by ivy every summer. I hang a WL Snipe so I grabbed two of the 1 3/8 chain link top rails and cut the "male" end to 6' 9" and the "female" end to 6' 6". I initially drilled the rail to hold an eye bolt but when I set it up on the porch I couldn’t get the tripods far enough away and it kept pushing the tripods off center. I ended up improvising a double fisherman's loop then a prusik knot of 550 and moving each of them back and forth until I found a happy medium with tripod stability and curve in the top rail. Despite the initial trouble the 13' span caused me, I don’t think this would have worked on anything shorter without changing out the hammock suspension all together due to the length of the snipe. Please excuse the general mess in the photos. The porch needs a good cleaning and I built this in the back of a friends pet shop. Note: no bunnies were harmed in the building process.

The monster was there to supervise all stability tests and generally be up in my business.

Ok gang - I am having a HECK of a time finding the galvy fence pole part for my crossbar. Been to Home Depot, OSH, local lumber joints and even a fencing company - none of them have the top parts that flange together so I can make it portable. The fence co. has a 21' section of smaller diameter heavy gauge stuff - but it's $60 and way too heavy. May have to get some of those antennae interlocking poles off eBay. Has everyone had a relatively easy time otherwise obtaining light gauge fence posts? Any other thoughts?? I need me my TurtleDog Stand!!

At Home Depot they should be standing on end in a rack along with the line and corner post in the same area as the chainlink fence hardware. As JS stated they will be in the 10' range with a swaged end to slip into the next section of top rail.

Yep - that is where I went. Unfortunately, all they had were 6' terminal posts - were out of everything else. :-(

Will have to travel to find or wait for HD to re-stock. Or thinking of getting those aluminum military antenna poles.
