    Under quilt sliding off shoulder

Equipment- WWBB 1.7 dbl and AHE New River.

After three nights with the same problem, spent all afternoon trying to get this adjusted. No matter what I do, when I turn from back to side or side to back, the left side of the under quilt slips under the hammock and I get the "cold shoulder". I've tried tightening and loosening each side of each end, adjusting the gathers to one side or the other nothing helps.

I don't mind connecting one side of the UQ to the other over the ridgeline, or connecting the fabric loop to the hammock tie out line, but thought I would throw the question out there first. Has anyone seen and solved this problem through adjustments? I have watched Shug's video, and it works on the footbox, but I still have the left shoulder problem.

I had that same problem with a DIY UQ I have. I finally just used a small "S" biner to clip the UQ to the tieout on my WBBB. When I use the UQ on my DIY gathered end hammock I just clip it straight to the hemmed edge of the hammock. Works so far.

I find that using triangle thingies help. Mine still slips some on the entrance side of my BB but when it happens I just reach out and pull it back into place and presto chango, warmth.

I got some Dutch uq hooks and one day I will sew them in place and fix the problem but so far I have been to lazy to do so

That looks like it will work pretty well, except you have to attach it after you get in. Simple though. There is a fabric loop on the New River in the right spot.

I have this problem with my MM Shamu on my WBBB 1.7DL sometimes. For me, the #1 culprit is my hammock is slung up too tight. When I have my ridgeline with the proper amount of slack my UQ stays put, if it's just a bit too tight so is the UQ, which is pretty narrow for my broad showlders, and commonly slips off my left shoulder.

I thought about getting something to clip it in place, but after much trial and error, and the help of my GF, I was able to find a sweet spot and figure out the root cause to my problem.

    Lots of good ideas here.

The New River has no suspension along the sides, just loops to facilitate innovation. Has anyone ever run shock cord through these and attached at the ends where the UQ attaches? (maybe this is what a triangle thingy is supposed to do?)

I took my WBBB 1.1 dbl and Incubator 20* out for their maiden voyage last night and had the same problem. Even though the temps were only in the 30's I had the "cold shoulder". I was able to reach out and adjust it, but doing that throughout the night doesn't make for a good night's sleep.

My son had it worse. I got up around 6:00AM to check on him and the entire quilt had slid off to one side. He has my old Hennessy bottom entry, so adjustment is a pain. I don't think he even realize it had slid off. It was his first night in a hammock and he froze. Hopefully I didn't turn him off to hanging.

Looks like I need to dial in the suspension. I have the new Incubators that lack the shock cord along the side channel. That will be the first thing I add.

On a positive note, I was toasty warm on top with my 20* burrow.

i had that problem with the synth uq i had, due to a lack of tensioned side channels.

shockcord running through the channel helps the UQ to hug, creating a taco effect.
