    Grape Vine Hammock

I had to share this Hammock with ya'll. We did a 8.6 mile round trip hike to the Walls of Jericho today. It is located on the Tennessee/Alabama line just outside of Winchester, TN. About a 1/4 mile from the Walls we encountered this hand make grape vine hammock. I did not try it out, but on the way back out there was a man who tried it and it held him with no problem.

That's awesome. I hike the South Cumberland all the time and have been wanting to check it out down there.
Afoot and light-hearted, I take to the open road,
Healthy, free, the world before me,
The long brown path before me, leading wherever I choose.

Neat, I need to hike in and stay the night there. How was the water source? I hunt just a few miles down the rd on the tennesse side and have a camp there. Mite just go check on camp then drive a couple miles and hike in for the nite.

The only place I saw where you can get water right now is at the Walls. We entered at the Tennessee trail head. They had posted on the TN side that you could not camp, but once into Alabama there were 3 different camping areas that I saw. The three were located with in a mile of the Walls. I did see folks hanging at one of the sites located just off the last log bridge before the Walls. This was my first trip there and I was amazed at the diversity of trails available there. You can hike, horse back ride, or use the ATV trails.

Thx flight chick. I was under the impression they stopped the ATV finally. I knew about the horses. They are all over that mtn and even come into camp some times. They stop riding until gun season opens in November.
