2004 Kelty Flight 4500 regular torso. This pack is the EXACT same design as the Kelty Full Spectra Cloud series packs, except that it is made with Spectra Grid-Stop and nylon, not full spectra. This was a "poor man's" Cloud pack. The Flight is in excellent condition and has ALL modular pockets and attachments and BOTH the web belt and padded hip belt. No rips tears or stains....it's CHERRY!
Can go from 4 lbs. to 1 lb. by removing all hardware and switching the padded waist belt to the web belt. Capable of loads in excess of 40 lbs! Truly a chameleon of a pack!

What is the suspension like on this pack? I cannot find any reviews that talk about how comfortable the pack is (or isn't) when loaded up and sitting on your back.

I am looking for a lighter pack than the Gregory Wind River that I currently own and am seriously interested in this pack. Also, would it be too difficult to modify the top lid so that it tethers with more than one buckle? I have read that this is the only complaint people have with the pack which makes it tough to store a tent or pad or other similar gear underneath the top lid.

The Kelty Flight has dual Light-Beam stays and back padding that is fully removable. As for comfort, I have had 40 lbs. in it and was very comfortable carrying it. Everyone is different, though. It is rated to 40 lbs. plus. I am 6'2" tall, 38 inch waist, and it fit fine with plenty of adjustment potential up or down the spectrum.

With 4500 cu. inches plus outside pockets, I never had a problem. There are so many lash points on this pack, you could put whatever, wherever and not even use under the top lid. You can also totally detach the top lid pocket and add another if you like. I suppose it would be fairly easy to add another clip, but I don't think it's necessary.
