So, major changes to get to UL, shedding 7oz are
    Shallower, and
    single layer, instead of double?

Yes according to the site but they also listed that they removed the four under quilt attachment loops and the under quilt now attaches directly to the secondary (spreader bar) rings.

That is how I am reading it. You give up the wonderful pad pocket- which won't matter to most UQ users. The quilt attaches in some new fashion, to the spreader bar rings rather than to loops on the hammock.

    I'm wondering:
1:are the weight limits the same and

2: does the 4" less deep change the perceived "lay"? I'm sure just as flat, but maybe feels different in the shoulders, or still pretty much identical to the original?

3:And why is the suspension weight listed separately? Removable?

I've tested, but not used a bridge hammock before.

This suspension with this new UL bridge is removable. I like that, and many of the other aspects. I've always liked the BMBH, but wished for a few changes. The Jack's hit the changes I wished for exactly. I hesitated about 1 1/2 seconds before hitting the "buy" button!

I look forward to many comfy nights in this.

Thanks for the info, Joey! What are the odds of this:
Your post about the UL BMBH and mine on the same subject both were posted at 1013 AM!

I liked the pad pocket on the BMBH to put a pad in and help do away with shoulder squeeze. Will the lower sides mean less shoulder squeeze???
