    Best place to buy SBPro?

Surfing around and wondering where the best deal is to be found on a Skeeter Beeter Pro?

Try Altrec. They have a better return policy if you have any problems you can return the product at any time. They may not be the cheapest but security is worth something. They will have the hammock drop shipped form Travel Hammock anyway.

Altrec looks great - 100% lifetime return and free shipping!

Scratch that - they don't carry the Pro - just the UL.

I may email them to see if they can get it anyway.

    Thx!

I assume you wan the Pro version because of the 400 lbs. load capacity or the extra length? Thsoe are the only reasons I can see to prefer the SB Pro over the SB UL. The design of the SB UL is better in my mind. As I mention in another thread, the SB Pro has an extended sidewall where I believe they are adding material for the extra width. This sidewall creates an uncomfortable pressure across the back of the leggs when using the hammock as a chair or getting in and out. If you can get by with the SB UL, I think you will be happier with the product. I never received a reply from my email to Travel Hammock when I inquired about a hammock made from the SB Pro material but in the style of a SB UL.

    Talking

Quick update- I emailed Altrec and they indicated they weren't planning on getting the Pro in.

And someone from the forum PM'd me and sold me a hammock they weren't using - so I'm all set. Now to learn about ridgelines, etc!!

my wife just picked up a package from reioutlet.com that included the SBpro. It's called the Grand Trunk Air Bivy Extreme shelter. It includes the SBpro and the Funky Forest tarp for $99. (about $50 savings as best I can figure) I don't know if you need a tarp...

Nope. You can get it for just over $40 from Solunar. They have 4 in stock as I type this.

Thanks JaxHiker. Solunar has all of their Travel Hammock items on sale. I just ordered the Skeeter Ultralight for $29.00. Have you hiked much of the FL Trail? Got a copy of the map cd for sale cheap?

    Beware Solunar

I just received my hammock from Solunar, and it was defective. The price that was too good to be true turned out to be just that. Missed stitches, a torn out and restitched area, crooked stitching, bugnetting held on in some areas by just one row of stitching, and so on. Obviously a factory 2nd being passed off for new, first quality. Also, they charged for one method of shipping which should have been 2nd day, and shipped a different method, pocketing the difference no doubt. I had some other issues with them regarding time of claimed shipping and what the tracking number revealed. Due to delays in shipping i asked the order cancelled if not already on the truck and they responded it was shipped, when in fact it was still at the distributor. I don't know if that's on them or the distributor. A comedy of errors so far. I'll post the resolution when the dust settles. But for now, I'd stay away from Solunar. A previous poster was correct in saying it's worth a little more for good service like at Altrec.
