I'm going to be making a warm ( 50 and up) weather TQ. This will be my first attempt at a TQ. I order some M50 and 6 oz of down. I'm thinking of using a 1/2" baffle instead of doing a sewn thru. My thought is That it will be extra work, but will make it a little more efficient. The quilt will be 72 long by 50 wide and taper to 40. I'm thinking that will give an 1 1/4 to 1 1/2" of space to fill. My math is (72x45x1.5= 4860/850=5.71 oz). What I would like some input on, Is adding a 1/2" baffle going to make any difference, do you think I will have 1 1/2" of loft, and with baffles will 6 oz of down fill the quilt adequately. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciate.
