Talked to Nest again today. He heard more shots before he finally got out of New Jersey. Don't think he ever wants to go there again. Take a look at his Trail Journal entry for the details of his experience.
He did leave a note in the shelter for the Trail Runners since it didn't seem like the police were too concerned.
On to New York now.
Too many people don't know (or follow) the 2nd part of the gun safety motto:
Know your target AND BEYOND.
As for knowing where a trail is: when off trail in the woods, you often don't know a trial is before you until you're standing in it. I'm an archer not a hiker, but I'd NEVER assume the other guy is ethical, safe or knowledgeable. Wearing an orange hat during any firearms season is a must.
The harder I work, the luckier I get.
It's easy to "not know where the trail is". Just ask anyone who has spent much time hiking & chances are there has been a time they left the trail to use the bath room & suddenly realized that the trail curved back around to were they were using the bathroom
don`t leave the CREATOR out of the creation!
Let's take up a collection for a snub 357 so he can shoot back.
