    Knobstone Trail

I'm heading for New Chapel Trailhead on May 24th, and will be arriving at Spurgeon Hollow on May 27th ( ish ) a total of about 28 miles. this will be a slow, take my time hike, I want to see the woods, relax, and video the entire hike.
I have arranged shuttle from my house ( Seymour ) to and from the locations.
Anyone want to join? It would be fun to hike with a few, or a solo I'm very cool with either. Send me a PM or post on here if ya like.....
These dates are pretty much etched in stone.

    Have a great day

I was just down to Henryville today. Water is way high after last nights storms, but I did get to check the SR160, Pixley, Flyods Knob and Leota, trailheads. Wet and mucky today and well on its way to being a jungle in there, but very tempting.

Ticks and skeeters looking ugly, but got some cache sites mapped out and a little better feel for some of the road crossings.

CURRENTLY > KT is posted closed south of Pixley Knob Rd, but open to the north, and appears now to be the southern terminus for the KT this season.

Might to take a bug net for the head,,,skeeters and knats/itty bitty black flys have been lousy off and on cause of the warm and often wet weather,,so bug spray and artifical vanallia in a small pump for the knats/flys might be in order,,the more you get in the jungle the worse they will be..good luck on the hike as you should be able to find water due to rains. This early spring/warm weather,,has the foilage alot more thicker and the same for the bugs.

    +2 to that.

Ticks are out in droves as well. Every single trip off the roadside and back had several to pick off the socks and legs. Sawyers is gonna make a fortune around here this season.

No kidding...just finished a two day, 22 miler in the deam. I only had one actually set in on me, but my dog got devoured...I must've picked off 10 or 15 off him, even with a frontline treatment.

You'll be in ultimate stealth mode. 10 yards off the side of the road in either direction and it's almost total concealment. Very close in there.

The folks I know outside of Henryville tell me that since the tornadoes ran through, it really hasn't stopped raining for any real length of time down there. All the streams, and ditches were either running full after the storms the night before, or were out of their banks.

    Things change fast though.
