Cool trick Detail man. You can add sections of PVC to each side, maybe even in differential lengths and experiment with the hang.

Maybe put a spacer on the opposite corners that correspond to your diagonal lay.

I like'em both, OG and Detail Man. I'd be a little worried about the chafe with the T fitting but they both look very functional. Oldgringo, does the pvc want to squeeze up toward the buckle when under load of does it stay put?
    Good luck,

Red, it stays put, but my continuous loops are pretty short. If they were longer, the pvc might migrate. Hard to say.

A loop of shock cord might help secure it.

I wanted to share a recent porch hammock w/mini-bar I made for a friend. One thing I wanted was to make a hammock body that could easily be removed and laundered. the attachment rope is a piece of amsteel with loops at each end. The loops go through the bars and pieces of metal are inserted to stops it from going back through. Very simple, easily removed, and uber comfortable. No need to comment on the 550 cord being used, I am aware it stretches.

The hammock is 11 ft long, and just under 60 inches wide. It is two layers, the green being some sort of thick cotton material (not duck cloth) and the top layer is linen.

My hommack gets laundered weekly also and I use a continuous loop thru the channel ends and just looped over the ends of the mini bar.

thanks for the compliments. I just love the extra big of comfort these mini-bars add. I wish someone who has the skills and desire to find the perfect curve attachment rope is and let us all know. I feel like the gradual curve is the best, but then again I've never done any experimenting with the curve of the rope.
