[QUOTE=waddy;736686]Wow, your pack last year was POUNDS lighter than mine! I'm really going to have to work on it! How do you say "gram weenie"?

Uhhhhh, you ol' curmudgeons really need alot of maintenance, don't you? The 240 ozs (15lbs.), was body weight NOT pack weight! Hence, the reference to my favorite ice cream.
I'm reluctant to weigh the backpack with all the new gear this forum is enticing me to buy.

You're right, it takes a heck of a lot to keep me straight. Just ask my wife!

I didn't think the figures worked out very well, unless you had started carrying helium baloons in your pack. Congratulations on your loss (somehow that just doesn't sound right).

I'm glad you cleared that up. I was thinking pack weight too. Here I was feeling good about dropping 10lbs pack weight from last year, then you post a drop of 15. Kinda took the wind out of my sails. Lol

MrsMustardman and I are in for the weekend. I'll bring a fishing rod but most likely fail at any attempts at actual fishing.

I'll go ahead and bring my BackCountry Boiler, since we're all giddy over different stove options. I might bring a selection of flashlights and knives to play with too, depending on how much crap I want to load up.

Looking forward to finally spending a night in the hammock! My oldest dog has been in pretty lousy health, so getting someone to watch him and take care of all his special needs has been difficult. We haven't been outdoors in WAY TOO LONG.

That's great news. It will be good to see you two again.
On the fishing, there won't be a lot of opportunities Friday or Saturday but on Sunday morning when we move to Left Hand Res the fishing from the bank(with bait) should be good.
If you two could spend Sunday afternoon with us at Left Hand there is a good chance you could catch a few nice trout.
From the Brainard Lake entrance(guard shack) Left Hand is 2 mile up a gravel road to the dam and parking. It's about 300yds to some very nice hammock trees along the shore.

I plan to set my coleman 2 burner stove with grittle up for fish frying.
For those that have not tasted fresh trout it should be a real treat and since we will be close to our vehicles and coolers
an Ice cold Mikes Lemonade should make that trout taste even better.

That makes me envious, but I am holding the north loop permit.

MrsMustardman is working a 12-hr shift on Friday, so we will probably not arrive until Saturday morning. We'll camp out Sat. night for sure, and POSSIBLY stay for the Left Hand Res. hang Sunday night if there's space and the work schedules work out. We won't know that for sure until a little closer to the event. Either way, we'll probably at least hang out at Left Hand for a bit and enjoy the scenery.

Many thanks to food for taking the time and effort to publish and mail the detailed mile-by-mile itinerary; I received mine in the mail today.I was surprised to notice that campfires were still allowed at the second night at this time. I wouldn't bet on it holding true by July though. Thanks again to both food and OutandBack for the time and effort expended to make this another great hang and hike!

Just a minor adjustment to my plans, I'll have to leave Left Hand Res monday night or tuesday. Cause I'm leaving for Yellowstone on Wednesday!

I'll be back in town on the 26th tho if anyone wants to do something quick. I'd like to get up to RMNP for a little hiking and fishing before going back home.
