Have had my back broken twice. Now have two rods in my back, 2 screws in each vertebrae, compression plate in my right hip and untold other amounts of hardware throughout my body.
Sleeping in a properly set up hammock is far better for me than a bed.

I have a congenital defect in my lumbar spine and had surgery 2 years ago at the L4/L5 area. I'm mostly fine, but can only really lay in bed for 3-4 hours before my mid and upper back feels stiff/achy (fine once I get up and move about).

Sleeping in a hammock leaves me feeling great.

Me. too. I have a bulge at L4-5. Got it when I was 30 by moving furniture wrong.
Tent camping sometimes left me unable to move in the morning. Always aching and sore.
Check out the video I did in trip report-Johns Mountain Trail. No pain!

I have a bad back--bulging lumbar disk (not sure which one). Sleeping in the hammock is probably the only reason I camp as often as I do with the scouts. I wake up feeling pretty good. The adults on the ground are usually groaning.

As the owner of the 80 year old back, I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for the input. With Mouseskowitz's guidance, I've been working on constructing a hammock and tent system.

Looking forward to using it for the scout outing next weekend!

    Thanks everyone!

You might want to work on your terminology some. The "T" word may be considered a four letter word by many in here
