    3.4 miles of thread

Well it finally happened. Last night I was sewing up a couple more tarp skins for my sons' hammocks in preparation for an upcoming outing when I exhausted my 6,000 yard cone of thread from Speers. As advertised :

Guess I better be careful when crossing the street from now on, my number is evidently up.

That's a lot of stitching....maybe it's my wife that does me in for lack of attention

Ummm... grizz... you are off if my calculations (sans slide rule) are correct. Assuming that you wound your bobbin from the same cone you would have 1.7 miles of stitching as the bobbin and cone are used at the same rate for each seam. Still a good bit of stitching.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Depends on how you look at it. 1.7 miles of stitched material yes, but stitching itself? If you make a Möbius strip from one foot of paper, and trace the length inscribed by a pencil run all the way around, how long is that pencil trace?

maybe there's a future in politics for me

I should have known better. I'm not sure the analogy applies. But I am math impaired.

It doesn't, not really. But you can go far in this world if you talk fast, and with confidence

Wow that's a lot of thread to hide in projects. If you sew like I do and some ripping is involved with the errors. Think how much ripping that would be.

Congrats on a life changing event. I think Ed hears dollars coming out of your wallet as he reads this.
