I knew someone would have that comment! I haven't been to Wally lately - too much fabric sitting and doing nothing right now. But, it is an effective way to test waterproofing.

I tried the SIL application method I saw in another forum by thinning silicon with thinner and soaking. It worked pretty well I must say. I compared it to my Clark fly as far as leak proof with the sprinkler tests and it works just as well.
Been playing around with it on the sewing machine but the little bit of rubbery stickyness makes it harder to feed nice on the machine. I think that if a guy sews up his prject and applied the thinned silicon with a paint roller it would be just as well, and my thoughts is it may even be better because you will apply the silicon when the material is pulled tight with the stake outs and that opens up tiny openings in the fabric. Just thinking out loud, but when I took a little fabric and dabbed some mixture onto it and wiped it off it came out the same as soaking and wringing.
