Can you understand now how disappointing missing that hang was to me?!?! I was so, so upset after doing all of that work and then having my body fail me. I wanted to show and share with everyone what I had accomplished. I ended up sleeping in the attic that weekend, and trying my UQ anyways. First time (aside from that hot hang last September) that I never had a cold butt....and the attic got pretty darn cold Saturday night, but I did great . Gutter thought I was nuts hanging in the attic and wouldn't hang with me.

Yea, me too A week earlier I seam sealed all my larger GG tarps and added center tie outs to the larger tarps. So that was 3 large tarps done and 2 small tarps seam sealed.

Thanks a bunch!!! Your awesome! Now I just need to get my hammock stands done so I can hang where ever I want, when ever I want. The attic jumped to 100 the other day and there is no way I'm hanging in that temp . I can't find affordable bamboo here, so I'll be doing the 2x2 version. I actually only need on one end...but haven't figured out how to do that yet.

Lot's of PM's on the cart so hopefully this helps out to those lurking .

It is CPVC not PVC 3/4"
No, pipes aren't black, I painted it black
It has a steel, hollow rod going through the two outside ends. For my use I had to split it, I have a convertible, so I have very little trunk and back seat space and needed to be able to pull it apart. I have to pull the bottom pins and use a rubber mallet to get that section apart. This seemed to be confusing, but if you have a truck or normal size car, you would not need to do this.
15.5" wide from outside to outside
51" long from bottom CPVC to top CPVC It could be longer with the understanding that you'd have to do more "back step" to make sharper path turns.
Wheels are plastic wheels off of an old garden cart

This is my second version. The one wheel version didn't work for me, on the "rectangular" style, elbow joints in the center may help with the design if your looking to do one wheel. Balance and weight right over that one tire design is an absolutely must. My gait is off too and that didn't help with balance of the cart.

Why all the joints? To add rigidness and durability. First design didn't have so many joints and did not work as well, I just kept changing and adding as I went along.

It had been longer, by about 12" or a bit more, but turns were harder. This one is done and all glued and pinned. Next one may be longer as it just levels out the weight better, but I'm not sure.

I've had at least 80 pounds on it. No snapping, no give, very sturdy. Cart did great, but I didn't . That's a ridiculous amount of weight and the belt dug into my hips and by the time I got the end of the 2nd block I was feeling the weight. 50 pounds is great. 35 is like feeling nothing.

My problems with it...needs padding on hip area big time, I will be changing that and probably adding military suspenders. Next one, I'd like something else inside of it rather than the steel rod.

As for questions on cost?? Not much. I didn't keep track of and have been working on this on and off since last November. CPVC is cheap. The Rod I found behind the garage, the glue my husband had. The wheels were off a broken garden cart, I've also seen similar wheels at harbor freight. Most of the expense on my end came from the pins, and the military belt. It's very affordable, easy, and attainable products that anyone can do and use.

Thanks a whole bunch for the compliments, makes me feel so good!!! I hope this helps

    Diva,

If you'd like a set of military suspenders to try, drop me a PM and I'll send you a set of Y suspenders no charge. If they work, keep them. If they don't, I am sure you can find something to do with them.

My pleasure. Glad that I had something that will help your cause. Don't be surprised if I come asking for advice on my DIY hammock or bug net though.

I love the cart! I was thinking of making the same thing do to having a shoulder problem. I glad you said you had trouble with the 1 wheel design, I never even thought about that problem. Have you tried it on a path or trail yet? How do you think wheels will roll on rocks or over roots?
