How do you keep your bishops bag from getting wet during rainstorms?
The bishop's bag (for a hammock body or quilt) is on the 'inside' of your dripstopper (whether that is a ring, or a buckle, or a tied on wicking string). Water that runs down the suspension is diverted before it gets to the bag.
On a different note - I've been using a bishop's bag type setup for my tarp as well, but I don't try to keep it dry. If the tarp is wet, it doesn't hurt for it's bag to be wet.
“I think that when the lies are all told and forgot the truth will be there yet. It dont move about from place to place and it dont change from time to time. You cant corrupt it any more than you can salt salt.” - Cormac McCarthy
As AS said, my BB sack stays under the tarp right on the end of the hammock. I use it as a little bit of extra storage when the hammock is set up. It's normally where I keep my kitchen stuff.
“Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it." -Terry Pratchett
Also, my BB sack is made from silnylon, so it doesn't much matter if it gets a little wet.

“I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.” - John Burroughs

Anymore I don't think sil is waterproof. The only time it is close is when pulled tight as a tarp. I keep mine under the tarp.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?
