    UL BMBH initial review

Set up my new UL BMBH today. I'd put whoopie slings for the suspension. Nothing against the straps/tri-glides that came with it. I've just gotten use to whoopies and prefer them at this point.

This is my first bridge hammock. It took a little adjusting to figure that I set the hammock straps at my arm pit level, and tarp at eye level, to get a good set up. This way the spreader bars don't pop into the tarp as I get in and out of the hammock, yet I get great coverage.

I rigged up my Baby Orca IX UQ to the hammock with no problems. I really like the way it fits with a bridge hammock. NO gaps worries what so ever!

My wife lay in it a short while. When she saw me in it she exclaimed "Wow, that's a flat lay!!" She never got the asymetrical aspect of a gathered end. She likes the bridge hammock. I may be ordering a second one soon.

I can see out of the hammock easily when laying in it. I like that a lot. Plenty of room for my 6'2", 195lb frame.

I'll be taking for an over night trip to the 501 Shelter in PA next weekend. More pics and reviews to follow.

This hammock is ALL that I expected it to be. Very happy with it.

    Thanks Jacks!!!

    Cool Joey!

What's it weigh w/ Whoopies vs. straps?

    Thanks!

Yes Joey, and also: what about the shoulders? Hows it feel in that regard?

How about on your side, hows it feel?

    How about fetal position?

I don't have a scale, so I can't give an exact weight. Feels the same as my DL Traveler hammock, then you add in the spreader bars. I'd say 28 ozs as rigged with whoopies would be about right.

It's cozy on the shoulders if you lay flat on your back, but not squeezing. I sleep on my side, which I found to be very nice in this hammock. Didn't try the fetal position.

I'll get someone at the hang this upcoming Sat. to lay in it and model for photos. Maybe Dutch, as he's so easy on the eyes and all.

Nice work, I've always been keen on a BMBH but never been certain if I would fit being around 6'2" to 6'3"ish, only 165lbs though! You think I would fit ok?

It should fit you. I'm setting it up at home again tonight, as I want to make an adjustment to how I have the UQ attached. I will try and remember and do an actual measurement and let you know.

I measured 80" of hammock. More than enough room. As I lay in the hammock I do note a few inches above my head, and below my feet. Not cramped at all. You'll only an inch taller than I am. I'm sure you'd fit just fine!
