You definitely want to donate $10 to become a donating member which opens up all the other no -hammock related forums (like the kitchen forum for stoves & recipes).

I can tell that you're going to have lots of fun on this forum and don't forget that the members get together regularly for non-virtual hikes in the piney woods!

    Welcome from Florida!

My bug net and dry fly from eno came in today. The bug net i would say the bag is ok but could be 1cm deeper. I was hoping to be able to get the hammock setup and have the bug net on it and still get it in the hammock back. NOT happening. So, going to look at making a Bishop bag or do the snakeskins. Not sure yet.

I took out the Dry fly and it does look rather short for what I see others on here using. So that may be short lived or return it back to REI. (THoughts on the DryFly are welcome)?.....

So today I picked up my Amsteel 100' and went to town on some whoopie strings. Shortest length was 20 inches and the longest was 7'2" So i dont think I did to shabby first time and both of them at their longest were exact! So i feel great accomplishing this! I love splicing now! I have some ideas on an amsteel continuous loop with the loop going to a prusik knot onto itself to adjust for length. Im not sure if this will work or not but i may draw out the design and post it here.

I also, made my fancy feast burner tonight too! Worked like a charm! 1oz denate. alc. and boiled 1 cup of water in 8 minutes.!
