This morning when I logged on the first thing I saw was a picture of some of our Military boys making the most out of some cheap cargo nets as hammocks with ponchos for tarps. The first thing I thought was "Why do they have to lay in such uncomfortable hammocks when I can DIY one, with 6 foot whoopies for about $25 bucks." This then brought me to think of all of the DIYers here that make their own gear and a little light went off inside my head. (believe me it doesn't happen much)
Why not see if anyone else would be willing to make and send, overseas, some decent hammocks and tarps for these gentleman. I'm not suggesting anyone go out and purchase a $100 dollar hammock, but just some nice DIY stuff that would get them off the ground. I'm positive it would be a morale booster to them. I'm going to get some fabric this weekend (probably camo or other subdued color) and do just that. Just wanted to put this out there to see if the very generous people here would be willing to part with some of their hard earned money and time to help those that have given us so much. Thanks for reading and any help that you folks decide to give these men. Again, Thanks.
