    Kanangra to Katoomba - Australia

    G'day Everyone,

Sorry I haven been around much as of late. With luck I have been really busy getting out bush and working the machines!

Kanangra to Katoomba is a classic bushwalk here in Australia as it passes through some wonderful country.
Here is a video I have made up from the trip that I hope captures a bit of the beauty that we had the pleasure to pass through.

The highlights of the video for me are:

-My hat blowing off at 1.32 in the crazy wind(watch carefuly and you can see it scoot off to the left! )
-The timelapse of setting up the hammock and tarp at 2.04
    -The Tiger snake at 3.05

I also did a write up for my mates blog which can be found at hikingoz.com.

    Cheers everyone,

    Evan

They’re some nice DEEP valleys and fantastic views in that place. I’ll put that on my list of places to go. That bit of rock climbing looked like a bit of fun. Very nice place, thanks for the trip report,!

I was wondering how you guys got up those rocks so quick, when upon closer inspection I noticed the steps attached to the rocks.

Great trip report, Hope to see more from you.

I sure do miss hiking in that area, managed to see a bit of the Blue Mountains a year ago. Might have to plan another visit.

Great trip Evan!! Looks like you managed to get some good fine days in there.

We haven't been up to Kanangra or anywhere else since New Year's, when I had my encounter with the nettles by the Kowmung. With the rain staying away the last couple of weeks, I was thinking of getting up there for a K2K this weekend. But then I checked the forecast - it's getting cold up in the hills!

I don't much fancy wading across Cox's with those temps, though I'd be "interested" to see how my TQ & UQ would go below freezing. We had a sub-zero night at Boyd River last year, but that was a car-camp with two pads and two sleeping bags.

Yeah its getting cold up that way no doubt! Might be a good year for a bit of snow out around the walls for a day or two.

I missed your Kowmung report. Ill go back and have a read of it.

If you go the K2K make sure for the side trip to Morilla lookout (Morilla Deck) its magical!

Nice report, we had a leisurely 4 day K2K walk 12 months ago.

    Great spot.
