Paddle trip in the ADKs, June 8-10

I'm starting to plan a paddle trip in the Adirondacks for the weekend of June 8-10. I've got a couple of possible routes in mind, but the basic idea is paddling to a campsite, and from there either exploring more lakes and ponds, doing some hikes, or fishing.

I wondered if there is any interest in this sort of trip. I'll post more details as soon as I have them.

You're killing me, I love Bog/Low's. I live in MD so it would be a haul, but I'm trying to get up to the 'daks as a warm up for the boundary waters in late June. Any problem if I'm a last minute add? I'd give it about a 10 percent max probability but who knows?

You are braver folks than I!!
The black fly season in the Adirondacks includes most of June. Relentless swarms of biting flies make parts of the Adirondacks so inhospitable that tourism grinds to a halt. Some inns simply shut down for the few weeks after Memorial Day. Golf course business falls off to a trickle. Fishermen suddenly comprehend what it is like to be bait.
I THOUGHT GETTING OLDER WOULD TAKE MUCH LONGER.

And the locals, at least for a while, have the park to themselves.

Yeah, I know, and I'm hoping that if I do go up that the early temps will have "encouraged" them to come out early and leave early. Friend of mine that lives up there gives me reports, told me she's seeing them about. Typical wisdom is "mother's day to father's day", so they're a week or two early....but I've got long sleeves and head nets, too.

Except for those of us that want to be locals and just haven't figured out the cash flow part yet, but are crazy enough to drive 9 hrs each way during fly season anyway.

    Clearly we are!

I go camping every month, and my trips don't stop because of flies or rain or cold...

June is a lovely month in the Adirondacks, and we locals are happy to have it to ourselves while summer-folk wait until July.
