    Grand Trunk Nano 7

So I have the Grand Trunk Nano 7 and just wanted to through up a small review of this product. If you have seen any of my video's on youtube (backpackhiker) you may have noticed the Nano 7 hanging in the background. This is a great little hammock for sitting around the camp fire, eating or just chillin out. It can fit into the palm of your hand which is pretty amazing.

I think this hammock would be great if you were biking all day and wanted a quick nap or went for a day hike, but for overnight sleeping I need to have a bug net and this hammock lacks only that. Otherwise it is really comfortable, small and light.

    Check it out great buy

Have it, love it, spray it with permethrin, along with my hiking/sleeping clothes.

They are my go to hammocks when I don't want to carry hammock. So light they come with me every where. When I go out for more than 4 days I will bring it as a gear hammock/spare hammock should my primary or someone else hammock fail. Love them. I have two of them.

My two questions: what suspension system do you use?
How would you be able to put a bug net on Nano7?

I use the suspension kit sold by Grand Trunk:

This is a great suspension system and I would recommend it to anyone.

They also have a bug net that you can purchase:

I have yet to try this net but it looks cool.

Hammock Bliss also makes a simular product for a bug net:

I havn't tried this hammock yet but I will be soon and I will be doing a video review of it on youtube. My channel is backpackhiker

If you are under 200lbs, I would use some Dynaglide whoopies on the Nano7.

The GT bug net is huge/heavy. Go with a bug sock from Papasmurf.

I saw that Loner (youtube AT thru hiker) is using this hammock as his primary hammock. This is the one I was leaning towards since my first venture into hanging will be in early Oct on the AT so I wasn't concerned about a bug net, yet. Eventually I plan to hang next summer over water for overnight canoe trips, so a bug net will be required eventually.

I noticed that several of you use it as a backup hammock, or only for day hikes. Is there a reason for that?

I use a DIY "HUG". Weighs 3.7 oz.
