    Mt Walsh: QLD: Australia

My backyard, less than an hours drive from home is the little known Mt Walsh. Rising to 703m above sea level in the Coastal Range, Mount Walsh National Park is a rugged park with spectacular exposed granite outcrops and cliffs.

Last weekend I helped lead a group of hikers up to the top of Mt Walsh, Had a chance to play about with my new GoPro Hero2 HD camera. Some of the trickiest part of the climb I had my camera in my pack, Missed out on filming the best of it. But I managed to film the climb at the very top and a cave we explored on the way to another peak nearby.

I was worried I'd damage the camera if it's not in it's container in my pack. Could have risked it and used my head strap, but was not game enough, in the end I could have got away with it. As we got near the top the terrain started to get a lot easier so I grabbed my camera out of my pack and filmed that last bit. I had filmed a bit of the tricky climb down, but my camera fogged up inside it's housing. Ruined all that footage. I did have some deciidents, or what ever they call it, but forgot to place in my GoPro housing.

That was one scary climb, My last trip here, I taken my Hammock and camped just below the rocky outcrop, had the best views particularly as the sun emerged the next morning.

That cave is one of the best I've seen, bit of an hike to get to, all off track with lot's of Lantana and wait a while to battle your way through, but it's worth it. Very few, know of this cave and it's location.

    Thanks Shug,
It sure was like a air con. At the time the temp was 26 degrees Celsius (78.8 degree Fahrenheit)
Night time temps camping near the base of the mountain got down to 3 degrees Celsius (37.4 degree Fahrenheit) We usually don't see such a big difference in temps in one day where I live.

Thanks to all the other's that commented on my video. I'm glad you liked it. I love my new GoPro Hero2 HD camera, It also does a pretty good job with taking images. Love that fisheye lens.

I have to work out how you guy's can quote on all responses in one post, I have not worked out how to do that.
