    What size Bishop style bag?

I'm wanting to get a bishop bag or something similar that can house my entire setup (minus tarp).

WBBB, 20* Incubator, Golite ultra 1 season.

Hoping to just stuff everything in one bag and toss it in the pack for quicker breakdown and setup.

My thinking is something that might not compress it too tightly so it can conform to the other gear in my pack a bit better.

Having a hard time judging size needed....... any ideas?

    Specific brands or models?

    DIY threads?

    Thanks,
    jd

Put it all in a trash bag or something similar. Then play with it to get the size and shape that you'd like it. Once you have that figured out, measure. Problem solved.

I use a Granite Gear 25L dry bag for my setup on the river. Hammock, Incubator UQ, and Burrow TQ. I wrap the UQ around the whole deal and make it like a cocoon, and stuff it in foot 1st. Then I know which end is the head for the next setup.

    Bishop sack-

Here is the sack I made. In this picture it has a zero degree incubator and a 25 degree WM Alder. It compresses further with this set up, and with the 20 degree incubator and 1+ season golite quilt it is very small.

Here are the dimensions from another post-

Hopefully this gives you an idea to work with. This sack allows for a 1.7 dbl layer WBBB, a 0 degree incubator and a 25 degree Western Mountaineering sleeping bag to stuff in with little fuss, and then compress down small with the straps to fit in the bottom of my pack. YMMV.

I use a pillow case, but the trash bag works too.
    That Hooch is sooo smart.

Pack it in, smoosh it down, and measure it up.

Trash bag or pillow case..... you folks are too smart for me!

Looking like 20 - 25 liter will do nicely.

    Thanks for the help,

Brilliant! See, who's the genius now? Didn't even think about the pillow case!

I was thinking along the same lines and tried my WBBB 1.7 SL, HG 20* Pheonix and Burrow in a Granite Gear 13L eVent Cuben Fiber stuff sack. It is too wide for my pack until squished, but once I squish the air out (eVent) it goes right in to the bottom of my pack.

I was originally thinking "compression", but then realized that if I got a bag big enough to have the setup fit loosely it would likely take up less space in the pack since it can "ooze" into the voids instead of being a rock solid football sized clump.

Just found a 20L for sale on the forum that I grabbed, going to put a small hole in the bottom, rum my foot end woopie through it, then leave it hang right on the ridgeline. May even attach another small bag to it somehow for the straps.

Hoping this is quicker and easier than the multiple stuff sack thing I have going on now........ down from 3 individual bags to 1 all encompassing one.
