    BMBH UL arrived

    I got my UL today.
I really like that it is shallower then the original BMBH and it seems like it makes it easier to keep a tq and pillow in the hammock while getting in it. As soon as I opened the box today I could tell the difference between the original and the UL. The big difference is how much smaller the UL can be packed down and I can tell the difference in the weight right away.

My pics do not do the UL justice but I lost my good camera

    Like the set up location!

I'll be using my new UL BMBH at the 501 shelter get together this weekend. I'm going to get a volunteer to lay in it while I take pics showing the flat lay, side sleep, and fetal position. This should give a great representation of the size and depth of this very comfortable hammock.

I agree on the stuff sack. I'm searching through my collection for one that fits this hammock better. I guess this one it came in is for the original hammock. My poles will go in a separate pack location.

Very nice, and this forum is killing me with all the new hammocks. I may have to get one of these, but not until I sell a couple more hammocks. LOL....

That looks great SW! With this new model being shallower, does the bug net still stay far enough from your face to be able to read and such?

    Cheers

Well after I made this thread I found a little issue with the net.
I just can't seem to get it taunt so it hangs on my arms and face on the zipper side, (right hand facing the hammock). It just seems like up towards the head end, that there is just extra net material.
I need to contact the Jacks.

Interesting, mine pitches perfectly fine. No netting issue.

    spaceweasel--would you mind measuring
    a) the width of the hammock at the narrowest point, the waist, and
    b) the width of the fabric under the spreader bar

You should be able to do the first with a yardstick, the second may require a bit of string to lay on the arc of the endcap to get the arc length, and measure.

    Thanks!

How does the detachable webbing work? I have never heard it explained.

Is it detachable? It is on my old Omni Tape model, but I thought the zip model nets stayed on.
