Hammock Chair?

I know I could make one, if I was at home, but I'm deployed and hoping to find something to chill in.

I've looked through quite a few threads, have yet to find what I think I'm looking for. Is there anyone making these and selling them? Basically, I'm looking at a tough material, perhaps somewhere around 1000d (thick, I know), wider than longer, approximately half the length of an average hammock. I'd then add a length of amsteel to kick my feet out as a rest.

Should I be asking one of the fine hammock makers here to custom make me one? Any bit of help would be greatly appreciated!

That might work in the 1.9 ounce. I will admit that I'm looking for something a bit heavier duty. The sand and dust out here in Afghanistan wreaks havoc on anything. Let me see if anyone else pops up with a suggestion, if nothing else I can always ask for a custom job. Thanks!

If you could find someone who would make that chair in an awning fabric, you might find it heavy enough, but you are right, 1000d would be impervious to damage.

I'd PM Paul from Arrowhead and ask if he'd consider making you one in ballistic Nylon (cordura).

Oh, I completely forgot about those! I have one in brown that is just sitting in the basement, complete with foot support. If I had an address, I could ship it off this week. How about $60, and an APO address?

I've looked at those too, and they do look very comfortable. I do need a two point attachment type hammock chair. Not many trees around here in this darnforsaken desert.
