I use this one for car camping only. I power it with a milwaukee power pack that I had for other uses. It uses the lithium batteries from my 12v drill kit. I also use the aa- o2 cool from ww but it doesn't move as much air.

I use the O2 that uses AA's. I use rechargeable AA's (from the landscape light aisle/area). I have a solar charger that was originally bought to power the fan of a woodgas stove that I use to re-charge the batteries. The solar charger also has a plug that interfaces with the fan and can power it directly (as long as there is sunlight).

Gotta mod it a bit so it will hang, but that's easy.
I picked up one of these for work. A set of D cells last me about 2 weeks (40 hrs+ per week), before the air movement is so little that I can no longer feel it. I'd say it is definitely worth while if out for more than a few days in the middle of a muggy summer with no flowing/open water areas to create a natural breeze.

I'm thinking of going this route and modding it for a d-cell or, better yet, a 9-volt battery. Gotta be able to figure out the conversion and likely runtime online. Think I saw a site that compares the outputs. Or voltage. Or power or whatever you call it! LOL!
Somebody told me how frightening it was how much topsoil we are losing each year, but I told that story around the campfire and nobody got scared.

Was in Home Depot today and they had the O2Cool 6" battery fan for $5.88.

    Can't go wrong with that...
