Fleece lined

Hey there! it's been a while since I've been her but I have yet another question.

Has anyone ever experimented with a fleece-lined hammock? I thought that's what ENO's Reactor hammock was but I was disapointed to find all it had was a pad sleeve.

it seems like a good idea to sew fleece to the inside (or outside with down in between) of a hammock. it'd be awesome for cocoon mode in my singlenest!

Be interesting to see if anyone else has tried. I've tried so many different things that I'm done experimenting for now. Get's too costly after a while. I'm sure I'll pick back up on that experimenting later in the year....just because

I've slept (in hammock) on fleece- not sewn in though, I had it as a poncho, and it's nice, but bulky and not the amazing warmth I was expecting.

Interesting concept that's for sure. I wonder how insulating it is when it's compressed. This would probably work great as a full time home hammock...but the hammocks themselves are so darn narrow

I could see some wind blocking fleece on the outside of the hammock being helpful.

Bluenose climbers has a DIY fleece lined hammock. He has used it as an uq for one of his venturers, has used it fleece in in the spring and fall without an uq and fleece out in the summer ( all this is from memory...which has a tendency to fabricate strange facts...hopefully BC will chime in and answer for himself

I think it's a useful idea, since i car-camp about 50% of the time anyway. Weight isn't a factor when i car camp. Sure, it would add weight. Compared to down, how heavy would a small fleece blanket be? In the summer, you'd just need something to keep the chill off you.

IMHO you're best off packing and wearing some fleece layers. It's multi purpose that way (wear it while doing chores around camp etc) , and gives you the flexibility of using it or not. Lining a pad or hammock with fleece adds quite a bit of bulk and weight. I tried stitching it onto a CCF pad and it doubled the weight, and bulk. I wasn't happy with it so I removed it.

Some campers use the fleece sleeping bag liners and get an extra 10 deg. adding it to their sleeping bag.
