    Day hike from Meeker, Colorado

The local Recreation department has started developing a chunk of land directly behind the town of Meeker, and is presently forming new hiking and biking trails. The trails are planned to go to the very top of what is called locally as "The China Wall" (VERY original name ) and eventually complete a loop back to another park on the West edge of town. I decided to check it out, knowing I would have to bushwhack most of the way to the top. It was also an opportunity to place a Geocache, and try my hand at making a movie. It was a great hike and workout (altitude gained, and lost, 1,027 feet). I nearly stepped on the biggest rattlesnake I have ever seen, at least 4 feet long! Nothing compared to the Texas and Eastern Timber varieties, but enough to scare the poop out of me! No pictures of the snake though, he was gettin' him some GONE!

Anyway, if you have 20 minutes to waste, check it out. A few too many shots of town, but the hill was so steep there was nothing else to shoot!

Love your enemies, but keep your gun oiled!

This is a video I'll be watching when I've got some extra time. Hiking in that part of Colorado has to be beautiful. Maybe this new trail will be a good enough excuse to go do some hiking over there this summer. Thanks for posting it!

This is not the GOOD country which starts a little East of town. Just a handy little walk in the afternoon. I hope to get a little overnighter at least in some of the better country and post that. I have to get legged up for the Colo. Summer Hike! See you then.

Not a bad first video waddy. They are definitely setting that trail up for bikers. Going to be a killer bike trail when it's finished if that first portion is any indication.

I think bushwhacking makes for interesting video.

Next video, show some of yourself.

I know what you mean about getting your getting your Colorado Summer Hang legs.

I don't know what it is with Vimeo that causes the movie to be jerky, as it does the same to mine.

The track looks like it will be good for mountain bike too, when it’s finished. I could see a few bike tracks, so there have been a few on it already. A very peaceful place, by the looks of it. **** them false summits! There you go... a bit later you say it’s being built for bikes. They sure will like it! Thanks for the tour, waddy!
