    Smile USGI poncho liner UQ

    http://butternutchicory.blogspot.com...der-quilt.html

Not sure if this has been posted here before. I just made one in about five minutes and for about five bucks! Gonna give it a hang test tonight. Not the fanciest UQ but where I live it dosen't get all that cold. This time of year at night its a little foggy and down into the high 40's.
Hope someone else gets some use of it. Give those ol' funky poncho liners a second life.
    Cheers

There are quite a few threads about it over in the bottom insulation section. I have a couple of these on the way to make top and bottom quilts.

That's a nice website. Of interest: he mentions sleeping between the layers of a Claytor No Net. Interesting.

Very nice,,poncho liners are quilted,,and synthetic, and bomb proof. I have 3 that I have had for more than 30 yrs now,,and still look perfect and have been abused every way imaginable. And 1 more that is a Vietnam issue,,that the dog now claims.

    Sounds similar to Dejoha's:

Looks like a nice idea, let us know how it handles the 40 degree temps.....

hmmm....I've never thought to put myself between the layers of a DL hammock. That is such a simple concept, although I don't want the fabric on my face like that, it's still such a K.I.S.S approach.

As for poncho liners, I think they are a great multi pieces of gear. We used them as our UQ for the first 6 months. Ours was the folded over no sew technique and they are warm.

Well....worked like a charm. Some shock cord and a couple of micro biners. For where I live this was plenty of UQ. And I used a USGI patrol bag on top. Slept so good I was late for work....
