Well I have both, and I do believe you'd find the WBBB a more snug fit. It will fit a huge person, but it doesn't feel quite as huge inside as the Explorer. The shelf makes for a bit of a wall beside you, and especially if you don't stake out the sides, you'll find that it's quite snug in there (I like this too).

If you want to do the "Jethro Tull" as somebody put it (more widely known as the ballerina) then the wall will move away to accommodate you, so there is always ample room.

I think you'd like the BlackBird. See if you can find someone near you who has one. Take it for a spin if you can, but I do think you'd like it, based on what you've said.

    Good luck!
It's bad luck to be superstitious.

Also depends on your size. At 6ft2 my BB is good fit, not too big not to small. For my wife at 5ft3 it is very roomy. I have gone to wake her up and found that she has managed to turn around in the hammock
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

I'm 6' 210 lbs, but was about 240 when I began using a WBBB. I think you're going to want to go with the 1.7 dbl. Check out Brandon's "Hammock 101" link below to see what he says. He has the pros and cons of going each route.
