    Marlin Spike Hitch. Apifiny

Was talking to my boss today about this weekends whoopie sling experiment with the soft shackle.
I then said I might try the marlin spike,,, and out of the blue he said "you going to use some antler for the spike?"

So as soon as I can find the camera will make some and post.

    Found the camera

Got my small stash of antler out.

    Cut and drilled the bits.

Got some para cord and a coffee

    Did some endless loops

    All set for tonight's outing.

Love the natural look. Also very functional as there is a slight taper to the diameter if the antler making it easier to remove.

In deed, I did how ever try to get two sections that were as parallel as possible also the antler I used is very smooth one of the bits had a very slight pearling which would make for a better grip but harder to pull free.

I bet that smelled great when cutting and drilling. I tried turning some antler once to make pens but that only lasted about 2 minutes before I started getting sick from the smell.

    Looks good!

Let me just say that I think the word you're searching for is 'epiphany'. Mangled spellings for that word make my brain hurt.
