    What would you suggest?

I may be in the market for a 1 season, 40* top quilt, but it would need to be much lighter than my WM Mitylite for me to spring for it. $$$ are not that important, weight is. I want this quilt to be 52" wide at the shoulders, and have a sewn in footbox. No other accessories needed. I looked at the Nunatak Arc Edge , but it is confining. Still, at 11 ounces it is worth considering. I am asking you fine folks, What are my other choices?

1 season, 40*, no zippers, no omni tape, no draw strings.

If your looking at weight,,thats it,,as far as I know,,everybody else is a couple of 3-4 even a dash more heavier,,however,,some of the mfgers are 50% cheaper in price. UG Quilts makes a 40 degree, Wilderness Logics makes one, and so does HammockGear. Tough decisions, good luck on choice as they are all workable.

For 15.5 ounces, I found Enlightened Equipment's Revelation . Still saves me 10 ounces over the Mitylight, but 5 ounces heavier than the Edge. It is less expensive though.

The Enlightened is nice. Either Underground Quilts or Hammock Gear will make a 40 out of M50 or 7D fabric which would be in the 12oz range I would figure.

The JRB Sierra Stealth with a sewn foot box might be worth looking into. Plus they have a sale going on now. I copied the information from thier website below.

I have the Sierra Sniveler, and am very pleased with it. It is half the weight of my sleeping bag, and close enough temperature range wise that I don't think I will need the bag very often.

    Sierra Stealth

Unsurpassed comfort and utility for hammock or ground sleepers

Description: Lighter than a similarly rated sleeping bag. No squirming around to get in and out. Easy to vent for temperature control. It was designed with the ground sleeper in mind. It is wider (52 inches) at the shoulders and down through the hips to eliminate drafts, and then tapers to 42 inches at the foot end; the foot box has been lengthened for better tuck control; and six lacing tabs have been added to the sides to secure the quilt around a pad if desired. This sew through, down quilt alternative to our standard baffled, down quilts is ideal for use when temperatures are not expected to be below 40-45°. Form the foot box and use as a top quilt or wear as a serape using the non-snagging Velcro re-sealable head hole. For individuals over 5 feet 10 inches tall we offer a long version (86" in length). Includes a 1.2 oz. JRB silnyl compression sack, and can be compressed to the size of a softball or small melon 7"x7"x5".

Thanks for all of your input. I pulled the pin on UG 50* with 2 ounces of overfill, to bring it close to a 40* quilt. Came in at 16 ounces, so I gave up some weight to get more room. When I get it in my hand, I will post an opinion. Acer, I owe you one. No one else I talked to had heard of them. BPL, BPer, no one.
