Do you have any idea what the strength rating is for the 7/64" ?

APS has it rated at about 1600 lbs tensile strength.

Thanks for the info, I'm a bit concerned about the small diameter line in a channel style hammock. I beef up the entrance to the channels with 400 denier spectra gridstop (similar to what Brian at OES uses for reinforcement on the MacCats). I'm sure this is more than enough but I'm giving this hammock to my niece. Any ideas ???

It's been seen that using a really small cord can cut into a tarp when using the gathered end method & attaching the cord to the hammock by a larks head.
Soooooo. I would be cautious about using a very small cord in a hammock w/ channels on the ends. JMHO
I too will something make and joy in it's making
