Thanks for sharing your trip. I wish I lived closer to my brother so we could get out together.

Nice video. Where's the rest of the trip? We hiked Springer to Three Forks last fall up on the BMT and back on the AT. Beautiful hike.

Well. I got dehydrated due to a lack of water from the Taccoa River to Licklog Mountain and kinda forgot to take pix! We pulled the plug on the trip after four days and recovered on day 5.

I hate that. I dread the day that happens to us. We've always been scared of that and carry probably too much water with us, plus we have filters for when we find water. Did you run out completely? Hope you can go back and finish.

We rationed, so didn't run completely out, but didn't drink enough to avoid the problem. We could have filtered at Skeena Creek but, due to a outdated guide didn't think it would be necessary.

My gauge on that is if I pack out water that I packed in, I brought enough.

At least you didn't run completely dry. You never know on a trail you've never traveled whether you've packed enough water though, unless you otherwise have a reliable report. We hiked part of the Pinhoti trail and thought we had plenty until we got low just before we found a good stream. We had started rationing too. The report we had included a creek that wound up being still, shallow and stagnant. We'll know next time how to pack for that trail.
