Do you leave you Guyslines on your tarp

It depends on how you stow your tarp. If you stuff sack, it probably makes more sense to bind your lines. I fold my tarp and gather the lines together and wrap them around so they unfurl neatly. Also your cordage material makes a big difference, zing-it is very nice for not tangling compared to something like masonry line.

Yep, they're always attached.
I don't use a stuff sack or skins; just shoved in the back pocket (mesh) of my pack. Lines are all wrapped like MAD777 described. Since it ain't broke, I ain't fixed it.

+1 on "hanking"...plus I sewed pockets on the tieout corners of my diy blackcat tarp for guyline storage after I hank them.

I use skins with mine. I take the guy lines off the stakes and let the two sides of the tarp hang together. Grab the one end with the two corners, flip the guy lines into the tarp and roll it up, pull the skin over, repeat with the other end. Then stuff it in the sack.

I leave mine on and loop them in a figure 8 around my fingers and tie them off.

+1 on this. Once you get the hang of it this makes set up super quick and hassel free.

Great question! I'm enjoying reading what others do.

I have some "no tangle" lines on my OES rainfly. I learned the hard way that they tangle just fine! Was in a cold rain with hail, trying to untangle the #@*%^! things in a hurry with cold fingers. Never want to do that again!

For the time being, I attached a small piece of light-weight "velcro" to the rainfly D-rings. I wrap each line around my fingers, then use the velcro to attach each loop of line to each D-ring.

Works okay, but I'm kinda liking what I read below about using shock cord instead. Velcro can be hard to manage with cold fingers in the dark, too.

In the meantime, I also started using my snake skins on my rainfly alone. I could see that simply rolling the lines up with the rainfly might prevent tangling and do away with all looping and fastening to boot. Might try that on my next trip.

Interesting approach if you use your stakes for more than one tarp. Saves lines.
