Pine / Hemlock Sap on Tarp?

Just got back from a nice overnighter near the Swinging Bridge in North Georgia, noticed I have two big drops of that sticky piney smelling sap on my tarp. Does anyone have a good and safe method of removing this from the tarp without damaging the sil finish or causing other problems? Too much expense to do something unfounded and ruin it.....any suggestions or tips would be welcome.

I've got pine tar on my HG 4-season Cuben Fiber Tarp. I'm ignoring it. It adds character.

i know denatured alcohol and hand snitizer both work. i would try sanitizer first.

I will give these suggestions a try on the straps, I am more concerned or worried about damaging the coated fly fabric, will try some gentile baby shampoo first.

Tried a couple of things on the tarp: The Mazola cooking oil seems to work, but not totally.....there is a slight outline where the sap was now and is no longer sticky. I also found that olive oil will work too. I was not too worried about the tree straps as theya re cheap compared to the tarp cost. The sap on the straps was removed with the olive oil and a wash & rinse with baby shampoo seemed to completely remove all traces of residue. I also found some or help on Google under "tree sap removal" just scroll down below auto finishes to fabrics. Thanks to everyone that responded to my question!

Never thought about removing the sap, but thanks for asking the question. Might have to give this a try.
