Snakeskins modified for a WBBB AWS

Do you use your snakeskins with your WBBB with the AWS suspension?

If so, how do you get around the buckle issue? When I put my snake skins on the buckle for the AWS suspension it is really tight against the snake skin. Was wondering if maybe putting a slit in the snakeskin works well. Any input from you guys and gals would be great, thanks!

here are some pictures of my BB and quilts and everything in a lazy slug tube. they're just over sized skins that encapsulate everything except my tarp, which is in a mesh sleeve.

Yea I saw that, those things are pretty neat. Swallows everything and makes everything really easy to take down and put up. I see one of those in the future when I have a stable job. For now though, I am gonna have to solve the problem without spending money...hopefully modifying in someway what I already have.

Nice set up ya got there, looks like a whole lotta goodness I feel comfortable just looking at it lololol.

I think I need to just get some whoopieslings and a good tutorial you tube video on how to change out the suspension to whoopieslings. That would solve my problem...

Deadphans, look at this page on NK Outdoors site. I used it to install my whoopies:

I've had the same problem with the buckles, not to mention the knot at the end of the hammock.

Yeah I definitely couldn't get the buckles through the #4 snakeskin holes, and still can't get the entire gathered end of the hammock through the snakeskins, but there's enough extra snakeskin to make that not matter. After I switched out to whoopie slings I can get like 6 inches of overlap on both layers, and the WBBB fits perfect in them. I bought the kit from Arrowhead Equipment, and they were really well done. I'm going to try and fit the WBBB wrapped in the big mamajamba inside one snakeskin this afternoon..

Any excuse to do some quality control testing...

Snake Skins XL on a WBBB

I put the snake skins on after removing the buckles and loop, installing a bare 8" loop, install the snake skins then larks head a single descender ring on to the 8" loop. The loop and buckles are then attached to the ring with a larks head. If you don't want the ring, you can just larks head the two loops together.

The bunched end of the hammock still jams in the snake skins 6 or 8" from the end.
